REDWheel has been designed to provide the fasted method of recording pertinent information regarding the client, product and service management. REDWheel achieves this by using the following philosophies which reduces the amount of keyboard use:
- Standard Pick Lists
- these are lists that are held in the database for use by the user throughout REDWheel. this means that standard information need only be entered once. e.g., GP´s, products, disabilities, etc.
- Dynamic Search Facilities
- allows the user to search on client name, id number, addresses, GP name, product description, product code, etc. without the need of hot keys.
- User Friendly Display
- REDWheel uses the windows graphical interface to provide clearer display of information allowing colour changes on the screen and the use of control buttons.
- No Hot Keys
- Using the windows interface described above REDWheel has been developed so as not to use any hot-keys. These have been replaced by buttons that when pressed navigate you through the REDWheel system.

- Standard Letters
- REDWheel is shipped with many standard letters which are automatically available without the need to use a separate word processor. When used with window envelopes no address labelling is needed. Standard letters include:
- New client
- Referral questionnaire
- Appointment refusal due to criteria
- Appointment (client and referrer)
- Appointment no show (client and referrer)
- Non provision (client and referrer)
- Delayed provision (client and referrer)
- Prescription notification (client, GP and referrer)
- Seasonal loan
- Client contact
- Custom Letters
- REDWheel allows the user to design and hold customised letters which automatically use the client details but allow the user to construct the main body of text. These can be saved and automatically printed by the addition of extra screen buttons which may be generated by the user (with basic Microsoft Access knowledge).
- Orders
- REDWheel provide a number of standard orders that cover both internal and external activities. These include:
- Assessor visits / clinic
- Non stock equipment requests
- Purchase orders
- Product modification
- Product delivery (A/R)
- Product repair
- Product collection
- Tracking

- Client waiting list (referral, appointment, etc)
- Disabilities
- Client by address
- Client history
- Client by product
- Product history by serial number
- Non stock requests

- Standard Information
- Through Microsoft Access REDWheel allows information to be provided to many other office applications such as word processors, spread sheets, databases, presentation packages, etc. If the Microsoft Office application is used then standard facilities such as mail shot lists and cross tab lists are available.
- Standard Reports
- REDWheel provide a comprehensive set of administration reports automatically. These include:
- Waiting lists
- Appointment lists
- Client information
- Client history
- Outstanding orders
- Client non contact (by age, sex, referral date)
- Product stock
- Custom Reports
- REDWheel allows the user to design, automate and save custom reports based on any of the information being held.
